2010 AFL Season Set To Be A Craker
2010 AFL Season Set To Be A Craker
Ok. So its only early January.
However, I strongly convinced the early bird is set to get the worm in 2010.
Yip! So the Cats have played in the last 3 grand finals .... boring, boring, boring - winning 2 of them. (ssshhh I know it should have been 3/3 - but I backed the Hawks for a fortune and they got the chocolates - lucky me)
This year have a feeling in my guts it wont be more of the same ... think I've gone mad dont you.
Mark my words 2010 is set to be a cracker!

AFL - Round 3 2006 Hot Topics
Questions Asked
Do The Kangaroos Deserve The Respect They Crave?
For the last 5 years Kangaroo supporters have been arguing vehemently that the experts don't know what they're talking about, that this year they will prove everyone wrong again. Well, that's all well and good, and usually they have performed above expectations...but what have those expectations been?
Last year they weren't expected by many to make the finals. They exceeded expectations and were mauled by Port Adelaide in the finals. Maybe that performance alone shows that they aren't good enough to impact the league in any great way. They can scrap and claw and scratch their way to a few gritty wins, and equally many honourable losses.
But when they turn in performances like that against Port, or the weekend pasts performance against Collingwood, you really wonder whether they are an underrated team, or simply occassional overperformers.
Some things are unknown...maybe they'll prove everyone wrong again and make the finals, but one thing's for sure...this years Kangaroos aren't going anywhere near any silverware.
Are Collingwood Out Of The Cellar Already?
It seems a terribly upsetting thought to so many around the country, and a blissful thought to so many others. With a win next round over the Lloyd-less Bombers, Mick and his Magpies would be 3-1, with their only loss being a competitive one against flag fancies Adelaide. From that position they should make the finals, an amazing thought considering they were playing in consecutive Grand Finals only a few years ago.
If they are still around come September, it has been a remarkably short rebuilding phase for the Black-and-White army.
Do the New Bulldogs Have Enough Depth?
The injuries to Minson and Morgan have left the Bulldogs rocked in the big man department, with Darcy already out for the season. Can they make up for it with their much-vaunted running brigade? Let's see, shall we?
Questions Answered
Can Port Adelaide Cover The Loss Of Tredrea?
No. They showed against Fremantle that without their new skipper, this Port Power team is no longer a mighty force. With him in the team and remaining uninjured, they may make the finals, but they don't have the ability to plug the hole when he's missing.
Are Key Forwards A Dying Breed?
Speculation was rife to begin the season regarding the role of big men in the AFL with the new rules in play. But for the first three rounds, key forwards all around the AFL have played like they have something to prove. Fevola, Lloyd, the Roccas, Tarrant, Hall, Kingsley (tell me if i'm missing anyone)...all have kicked bags this year and are showing that they can still be a key part of a team.
